Training

Midwest Orthopaedic Center has 4 certified athletic trainers (ATC) that provide exceptional training to many area schools, organizations, and community events. Our ATCs are licensed health care professionals educated and experienced in the prevention, recognition, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. ATC's assist injured athletes with immediate care of acute injuries, as well as rehabilitation, and perform daily and/or weekly injury checks at local schools.
Midwest Orthopaedic Center provides contracts that can be negotiated based on your school's needs, which include weekly ATC injury checks, game and tournament coverage, and educational programs. In the event of an injury that would require physician referral, our ATC's will screen your athlete's insurance for acceptable coverage and MOC will provide priority scheduling allowing your athlete to be seen within 24 hours on normal business days.
The athletic trainer must be knowledgeable and competent in a variety of specialty areas encompassed under the umbrella of "sports medicine" to be effective in preventing and treating injuries to the athlete. ATC's must graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training, pass a national board exam, and maintain current Illinois State Licensure, as well as First Aid and CPR-AED certifications. Athletic trainers also must maintain continuing education to stay current in their NATABOC certification.
