John D. Mahoney, M.D.

Dr. Mahoney is a board-eligible orthopaedic surgeon with specialized training in conditions related to the hand and upper extremities. A 2000 graduate of Yale University School of Medicine, he completed his residency at George Washington University, Washington, DC. In addition, he completed a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.

While at UCLA, Dr. Mahoney received special training in the treatment of Dupuytren's Disease. This technique is called needle aponeurotomy (or needle aponeuvrotomy or N.A.). This office-based procedure allows for the correction of significant contractures with minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Mahoney is one of fewer than twenty surgeons known to practice the technique within the United States. More information is available at www.doctormahoney.com.

Dr. Mahoney is on-staff at all three Peoria-area hospitals and is an active member of the Peoria Medical Society and a candidate member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Born in Bethesda, Maryland, Dr. Mahoney earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California (Berkeley). He currently resides in Peoria, Illinois with his wife and two children.
